Jay
Fialkow, Managing Partner of RossFialkow Capital
Partners, LLP, has an extensive legal background –
having counseled mid-size, family and privately held
companies in Mergers & Acquisitions and Financing for
more than 48 years.
Jay
received his education at Harvard College AB, 1948, and
Boston University Law School LLB, 1951.His legal career began at Kaye, Fialkow Richmond and
Rothstein where he was Senior Partner until 1995. That
year, the Wall Street firm of Stroock & Stroock & Lavan
L.L.P. acquired his firm, and Jay continued his role as
Senior Partner there until his retirement in October
1999. In addition to his legal career in the business
community, Jay served in the public sector as Assistant
Attorney General of
Massachusetts
under former Attorney Generals Edward Brooke and Elliot
Richardson, and as chairman of former Gov. William
Weld’s privatization committee.
Upon
retirement, Jay, along with long-time friend and
colleague, Jeffrey Ross, a former CEO who had overseen
the successful turn-around and sales of three companies,
had a conversation that resulted in their founding of
RossFialkow Capital Partners LLP in 1999. Realizing
that he really was not ready to retire yet, Jay
continues to enjoy and participate in “the action of the
business world” as he describes it. The new firm
focuses on obtaining a select group of midsize
businesses in the 10 million to 100 million range.
Calling on Jay’s and his partner’s deep legal and
business background, the firm assists businesses in
strategic planning, getting financing or getting sold by
acting as an advisor in a range of industries including
consumer goods, manufacturing, and technology. They are
often called upon to create a Board of Advisors for
their clients to assist them in the future success of
their companies. RossFialkow brings over four decades
of experience in advising privately held businesses, and
has established effective, personal working
relationships with lawyers, accountants and other
financial intermediaries.
